Agricultural workers: Turkey refuses to learn from deadly accidents

Burhan Ceyhan / Aydın, Sep 21 (DHA) - In Söke district of Aydın province, inhabitants who have noticed a truck carrying dozens of agricultural workers slammed the fact that the workers were being transported “packed like sardines”, despite several car accidents in the past that have killed hundreds of laborers every year, hitting roads to earn their bread.

Hundreds of agricultural workers heading to Aegean provinces are being carried, from early morning, in haulages of pickup trucks and tractor without any security measures, every year.
 
In this regard, the death toll has already reached 15 in Manisa province and 4 in Aydın province, against last years’ numbers.
