İSTANBUL - Turkey’s top business organization has expressed its desire to work collaboratively with the political parties which secured seats in parliament in the Nov. 1 election to solve the longstanding bipolarization of Turkish society. “The expectation of the business world from the new parliament is ending the bipolarization of Turkish society, which has been deteriorating for a long time, with all political parties working in harmony and mutual understanding” Turkey’s top business organization, the Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜSİAD), said on Nov. 2, in a press statement released after the Nov. 1 parliamentary election. The November election assured four political parties - the Justice and Development Party (AKP), the Republican People’s Party (CHP), the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) and the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) - seats in the new parliament expected to be formed after the announcement of the official election results. “It is pleasing to witness the 26th Term Parliamentary Election was conducted across the country in security as well as the high rate of participation in the election” TÜSİAD said, expressing its hope that the election results would bring peace, success and wealth to Turkey. TÜSİAD expressed its desire that the four political parties work in coherence in the to-be-formed parliament to expand freedoms, advance democratic standards, consolidate the state with rule of law and improve the prosperity of the country. “We celebrate the AKP, which stays in power by substantially increasing its vote, and the CHP, the HDP and the MHP, all of which secured seats in parliament” TÜSİAD added. TÜSİAD also said it expected the new parliament and government to make a series of amendments in areas which should be improved and advanced, such as public administration, development and political reforms.
