Turkey's annual egg production rose by 3.9 pct. in 2014
ISTANBUL - Turkey's annual egg production rose by 3.9 percent to 17.17 billion units, in 2014 against the year before, according to the Poultry Production data by Turkstat, on Tuesday. According to the seasonally and calendar adjusted series, number of slaughtered chicken increased by 4.6 percent to 1.11 billion units over the same period, while chicken meat production rose by 7.8 percent to 1.89 million tonnes. According to the seasonally and calendar adjusted series, number of slaughtered turkey increased by 13.1 percent to 5.17 million units and turkey meat production increased by 22.8 percent on annual basis. According to the egg production data, eggs per capita rose to 222 units in 2014, while chicken meat per capita rose to 24.5 kilograms over the same period.
